What is Enhanced Login Security? Enhanced Login Security is superior security technology that protects your accounts from unauthorized access by strengthening the security of your online banking session. When you login to your online banking session you can have peace of mind. Powered by the best-of breed technology, Enhanced Login Security protects against online fraud by providing an additional authentication ‘factor’ beyond your username and password used today through the use of either a one-time access code or by recognizing your computer or mobile device. When will I know that Enhanced Login Security is set for my accounts? You will be prompted to set up extra login security the first time you access your online banking session. You can set up how you want to receive a one-time passcode from the options that are available to you, then you're all set. You can receive this one-time access code by phone, text message, or email.
How will it affect my online banking experience? Once you are set up, and if you have selected to have your computer or mobile device "remembered", the next time you login it will be business as usual, the rest of your online banking experience will remain exactly the same.
Can I access my account from computers at my home, my office or on the road? Enhanced Login Security identifies you as the true “owner” of your accounts by recognizing not only your password but your computer or mobile device as well. If we don’t recognize your computer or device – you’ve logged in from a public computer or device you haven’t used before, for example – we’ll ask you to select how you want to receive a unique one-time access code. You can receive this one-time access code by:
You will then be asked to enter that code as an additional line of defense to prevent unauthorized access. With Enhanced Login Security, you’ll be protected from whatever computer you're using, whether you're at home or on the go.
How It Works
Enhanced Login Security works by placing a non-invasive, non-tracking cookie on the browser of computers you use regularly. The cookie is encrypted and contains no externally identifiable information about you or your accounts. When you log in, our Online Banking system verifies your member number and password and checks for the presence of the cookie.
If we don’t recognize your computer or mobile device – say you’ve logged in from a public computer or a device you haven’t used before – we’ll prompt you to choose how you want to receive the access code. Then enter the unique code to access your accounts securely.
Premier America recommends you install the cookie only on the computers you use regularly and trust, such as your home or work computers. We urge you not to place the cookie on the browser of any public or shared PC (such as one at a school, library, or Internet café). But if you do, don't worry, all you have to do is clear the cache (delete the cookies) from that computer.
