Message from the President/CEO

Dear Member-Owner,

Can you believe that fall (and soon the holiday season) is upon us? While no one was prepared for the long-term impacts of COVID-19, the challenges we’ve faced to maintain uninterrupted servicing has resulted in significant improvements in our ability to meet the needs of members. Our new online appointment system has helped many people schedule safe and secure branch visits, in advance. We thank all members who have taken advantage of this feature and everyone who is wearing personal protective equipment while visiting a branch. Doing so helps us protect the health of everyone within our branches and ensures we’re able to keep branch services available.

The Online Loan Pay service we launched in April has added greater convenience for members to make one-time or recurring loan payments, outside of Online Banking. Our Emergency Loan and loan payment deferral options have helped many members financially impacted by COVID-19. We’re also making progress on planned long-term growth initiatives. Over the last year, we’ve made investments in our lending operations to improve the loan processing and funding experience. The investment is paying off - we’re currently on-track to fund significantly more mortgage loans this year than we did in 2019. Additionally, for the fourth year in a row, we’ve been recognized by the readership of the Los Angeles Daily News, and received the 2020 award for Best Auto Loan provider! In spite of the challenges presented by the pandemic, we continue to reach more community residents who are taking advantage of the financial value Premier America has to offer.

An important and continued focus this year is supporting local community partners. While the pandemic has impacted the scope and scale of our typical annual giveback efforts, we continue to provide meaningful support to local concerns that do tremendous work in our member communities of California and Houston. In October, we will be making a significant monetary donation to four community food banks. In the wake of COVID-19, food insecurity is on-the-rise, and organizations like this need all the help they can get.

Lastly, I’m excited to share that before the end of the year, we will be launching a new brand identity for Premier America. Today, we face a more crowded financial services market than ever before. The rebranding effort will help us communicate our unique story and value proposition, and position the credit union for greater business growth within the diverse communities we serve.
