Premier America’s Sierra Gutierrez to be honored by United Way of Ventura County with Teague Award
CHATSWORTH, CA – AUGUST 19, 2024
Lifelong Southern California resident, and Premier America Credit Union’s Regional Director, Sierra Gutierrez was honored by United Way of Ventura County with the Milton M. Teague Award for Outstanding Community Volunteerism at their Spirit Awards on August 15.
The award is presented to area individuals for outstanding community service and for upholding the legacy of the three individuals who founded United Way of Ventura County in 1945. Gutierrez is currently serving her fifth term on the Board of Directors of United Way of Ventura County, and the impact of Gutierrez’s work is felt throughout the community.
“This award for Sierra (Gutierrez) is simply another testament to her tireless dedication to the community,” said Rudy Pereira, Premier America Credit Union President and CEO. “She embodies our core value of giving back whether in time to our team or in time and talent to the community.”
One of California’s largest credit unions, Premier America Credit Union, has over 20 branches in Southern California and Houston, Texas. Formed in 1957, the not-for-profit financial cooperative has roots throughout the community and is the Official Credit Union Partner of California State University, Northridge (CSUN).
In addition to her day-to-day management, Gutierrez is also instrumental in fostering relationships with area businesses to improve the financial well-being of employees and organizational volunteers.

United Way of Ventura County brings community members together with the focus on improve lives by inspiring and mobilizing the caring power and resources of our community,” Gutierrez said.
Joining Premier America in 2009, Gutierrez received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business (with a minor in economics) in 2008 and earned her Master of Business Administration in 2010; both from CSUCI.
Ernesto Norona, SVP and Chief Operating Officer praised Gutierrez’s passion and dedication to the community. “As a community-based institution, she (Sierra) works not only with our members and team members to inspire change, but also in the community. Her work is actively and measurably contributing meaningfully to improve the well-being of the community.”
Gutierrez was honored early this summer by the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce as one of the region’s 40 Under Forty.
